Do you ­need a bag?!

Did you know that it can take more than a century for polyethylene (plastic) bags to degrade?!

As a retailer, we recognized that our contribution of plastic bags to landfills was steep!  In an effort to find a solution which would be the most gentle on our earth we discovered:

>  the manufacturing of paper bags produces more green house gas emissions than the making of polyethylene bags!

>   ‘degradable’ & ‘oxy-degradable’ bags are not fully biodegradable and leach harmful chemicals into our earth and water!

Consequently, we have chosen to offer completely compostable corn bags (called BioBags) as a more sustainable alternative.  The creation of corn bags produces the least amount of carbon emissions.  BioBags will biodegrade in a compost environment in 10-45 days!  We will be charging a small fee (10¢ per small and 20¢ per large) for each bag you require.

TREAD  GENTLY!  The best thing you can do is to say ‘no’ to a bag and bring your own.  We will donate 5¢ on your behalf to a local non-profit environmental organization each time you choose not to take a bag!
